Unity Day: Together Against Bullying – United for Kindness, Acceptance and Inclusion
Wear Orange on Wednesday, October 25

Make it ORANGE and make it end! What are your true colors when it comes to bullying? If you care about safe and supportive schools and communities make your color ORANGE on Unity Day. That’s the day everyone can come together—in schools, communities, and online — and send one large ORANGE message of support, hope, and unity to show that we are together against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion.
Please see Pacer.org for more information about bullying prevention including, “What Parents Should Know About Bullying.”#UnityDay2017

Veterans’ Day Tribute at Wilshire Park on Thursday, November 9. At this assembly students will have the chance to ask questions of Wilshire Park staff members who are veterans.
We invite families to send in a one page document including a scanned photo of your child’s relative(s) who has served in the armed forces.  On the same page as the printed photo, please include the following information on the same sheet of paper:
• Military Member’s Name
• Military Branch
• Approximate Dates of Service
• Relationship and name of Wilshire Park Student
Please: no weapons in the photos.
The deadline to send in scanned copies of photo with veteran info is Friday, October 27. We plan to make a large collage of these photos in the hallway outside of the gym. To ensure that all of the information is matched to the correct photo, we are asking that you submit a one page document with the scanned photo and armed forces information on it. Click HERE for an example of what we need.
Unfortunately, we are not able to scan and return photos or print out documents so please do not email your project or send originals that need to be returned.
Please send your photo tribute honoring your family’s veteran with your child.  Classroom teachers will collect the one page documents.
