BIRTHDAYS:  Happy Birthday to Nathan Siegel!

 

GENERAL NOTES:

NEW:  Auditions for the spring play The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe will be from 5-7 on Tuesday, February 28 in the auditorium.  Sign up, scenes, and information are available in the office.

 

NEW: Attention AP Gov students: The second AP Weekend Retreat is this Sunday, 2/26.  A note: the hours for Sunday have changed.  We will be meeting from 10 am - 2 pm instead of the 1:00 pm start.  Again, we'll meet at 10 am.  The sign-up is outside Mr. Pristash's room.  Please bring money if you'd like pizza.  See you Sunday!

A representative from Dunwoody college’s Women in Technology Careers Program will be here 5th period on Friday to give a presentation about great opportunities and scholarships for women who want to enter the technology and manufacturing fields.  Pick up a field trip form to be signed by your 5th hour teacher if you are interested in attending.

 

This is a reminder to purchase your yearbook on Jostens.com before the 24th.  After the 24th, prices will increase to $70.  It is simple and easy to buy online by going to Jostens.com and searching for Saint Anthony Village High School.  

 

SPORTS:

NEW: Attention all 9th-12th grade baseball players.  Captains practice for NEXT Monday, February 27th will START at 8:45 PM and will go until 10:00 PM.  We are starting later than normal due to the High School Band Concert that night.  Thank you.

 

CLUBS and ACTIVITIES:

NEW:  Are you interested in Audio Visual for the auditorium?  Come to the first ever AV club meeting TODAY after school in the auditorium- no experience needed!

 

Student Council Members:  the next Meeting will be Tuesday, February 28th at 7:00 am in room 209.

EVENTS AND FUNDRAISERS:

St. Anthony High School is excited to partner with a licensed Grief Counselor from North Memorial Hospital to provide a Grief Group beginning in April. The group will last for seven weeks and will take place during rotating class periods throughout the school day. The group will provide students with an opportunity to connect with peers, remember their loved one, and practice coping strategies. The Spring Tea will be April 1 at 10:00 am in the High School Commons!  $20 per person, or $160 to host a table.  Enjoy tea and snack at this lovely morning, where Chamber Choir will be performing.  See the attached flyer for more details, and contact Bonnie Brever at Community Services to purchase tickets!

 

Join us for intramural basketball! Register as an individual; come and play for five weeks.  Team selection will be determined and weekly games will be scheduled from Jan. 28 through February 25, 2017.  Teams will be formed and adjustments may be made for fairness and participation. Dates:  Saturday, January 28; Saturday, February 4; Saturday, February 11; Saturday, February 18; and Saturday, February 25 Location:  Upper Gym, High School Time:  3:00-5:00 p.m. Cost:  $30

 

Mark your Calendars! SAMS will be hosting a Caring Environment night on Thursday, March 2nd from 6:00 pm to 8 pm in the commons. High School families are welcome to attend. In addition to coming together to share a meal and learn about how we go about building a caring environment at our school, the night will also include a guest speaker. Tech education expert, Dave Eisenmann, will help parents, students, and teachers to learn together about positive, safe, and meaningful uses of technology in our community. Dinner will be provided first, and then we will move to the auditorium to learn with (and from) Mr. Eisenmann. Please RSVP to this free event.
